The research group of Manufacturing Processes of MME at AUT works to deal with challenges in the manufacturing processes of materials, like forming, casting, welding, heat treatment, coating and surface engineering, machining and additive manufacturing. The group possesses research capabilities, expertise, equipment, experiences, and collaborations with industries, to do characterizations, selection and designing of engineering materials, to do designing, modelling, simulation and optimization of manufacturing processes and to do failure analysis and life endurance evaluations and revere engineering.

The research group of Production and Synthesis of Materials deals with production of iron and steel, non-ferrous metals, alloys, composites, super-alloys and advances materials. The group also deals with synthesis of catalysts, carbon structures, nanomaterials, semiconductors, protection of materials, corrosion engineering, and recycling processes. The group possesses research capabilities, expertise, experiences and collaborations with industries. The group works in multidiscipline areas of process engineering, extractive metallurgy, corrosion engineering, thermodynamics and kinetics, electrochemistry, and modelling and simulation of materials processes.
